3 Reasons God May Remove Someone From Your Life

Sometimes we get upset when our friends and family disappear when we seem to need them the most. But don’t! That’s all a part of God’s plan.

Sometimes we get too dependent on our loved ones that we forget that God is the only one that can “Make us or Break us”. He is the source of our blessings. Your loved one may be the resource, but without the source there could be no resource!

You can always tell when God is getting ready to bless you, because He will start to remove people from your life. The people whom you depend on the most.

Why you ask?

1. Because He wants to make sure that when HE brings you out of the storm, that you will not have nobody to praise but Him!

I remember when I was having financial problems after losing my job years ago. Each month that passed, I was one step closer to being homeless and unable to provide for my daughter. It seemed like everyone who I thought would be there for me, wasn’t! I wasn’t asking for a hand out. Just someone to listen to me and remind me that everything was going to be okay.

But that didn’t happen. Instead it seemed like my friends and family abandoned me when I needed them the most. When it was all said and done, I knew beyond a doubt that it was nobody but God that carried me through that storm. It allowed me to grow closer to Him and depend on Him more instead of my loved ones. Although I didn’t realize it at the time, Him removing people from my life was a blessing in disguise.

When I think back on my adult life, I’ve always had someone to lean on in my time of need; Someone who I counted on to bail me out of trouble. When I was married, It was my husband. After my divorce, It was my mother. After my mom’s death, it was my aunt… And so on and so on.

When I lost my job, the first thing that ran through my mind was, for the first time in my life, I have no one to depend on. I had put all my trust and faith in the people around me, But I never acknowledged the fact that it was God who was using them to bless me.

2. Because not everyone that’s there for you when you’re down, want to see you get back up!

God places people in our lives for a variety of reasons. Some we will never know, Some will be quite obvious. One thing I’ve learned is that no matter how saved and loving you are, there is always going to be someone who is going to dislike you. The bad part about  it is that sometimes these people are the people we care the most about… our “friends“.

I recall a time when I was going through a lot. It seemed as though everything that could go wrong, DID! Luckily I had someone who was there for me and had my back  (so I thought). She would listen to me whine, watch me cry, and offer advice.

Sounds like a true friend right? Well… Let me tell you what she didn’t do. She never offered encouragement. She never gave me hope that everything would be okay. When I think about it, She never even offered to help me! In fact, when things began to work in my favor, our conversations began to get shorter.

I also began to notice that every time I would call her to share good news, She would seem uninterested. The more I reached out to her, the more she avoided me. All I can say is… sometimes rejection is God’s protection.

3. Because sometimes our loved ones become more of a distraction than our enemies. This is God’s way of  keeping us focused.

Today, I ask you this: Where does God fit in your life? Is He #1, #2, #3, or a better question would be… Is He even a priority in your life at all?

Sometimes we place our relationship with God on the back burner without even realizing it. We don’t give it our all like we do everything else.

Try not to be so focused on earthly relationships that you forget about your relationship with God. Switch the energy you’re currently putting into your distractions and refocus it where it’s needed, on Him!
